Mackey Show Jumping Classic Final

The Mackey Show Jumping Classic Final will take place on Sunday 8th September 2019 in Coilóg Equestrian Centre, Kilmeague, Naas, Co. Kildare, beginning at approximately 10am.

Entries are now open on the Irish Pony Club Its Plain Sailing page for those who qualified for the final at one of the qualifiers that were held across the country.

Entries for the Mackey Show Jumping Classic Final will close on Thursday 5th September 2019 at midnight.

There are four competition options to choose from when you are entering the final of the Show Jumping Classic:

Show Jumping Classic Finder 1.10m
Show Jumping Classic 1.20m
Please carefully select the correct competition that you wish to enter from the list and complete the short application form. The entry fee for all competitions is €26 which includes the handling fee.

For any of your members who have not yet qualified for this competition and would like to, there is one final qualifier on Saturday 31st August in Ballinasloe Showgrounds. Entries for this qualifier will close tomorrow Tuesday 26th August online at

Eventing Championships 2019

WINNERS!!!!!!!!! What a weekend for the Club at the National Eventing Championships. Our Intermediate Team Jessica, Sophie, Jane and Caoimhe only went and brought the silverware back to Wicklow! Not only that but Caoimhe came 1st on the day and Sophie 4th. Jessica placed 2nd and Sophie 3rd in the Red Mills League 🎉

Then we had the Juniors-Pippa came 6th on the day and 2nd in the Red Mills League

The Wicklow Comets placed 10th and won the Best Turned Out Team. Well done Pippa, Peter, Sarah and Akysha you were all as neat as pins and your horses were pristine!

U12 Championship Skyla placing 4th on the day and 3rd in the League.


SUMMER LEAGUE begins on Wednesday August 14th at Boswell.

Entries are now open online (Closing Tuesday Aug 13th 9pm)

There will be 3 rounds (Aug 14,21,28) with the final being held at the Gymkhana on September 7th at Cooley Farm (by kind permission of Richard & Georgina).

All Entries must be made online. Warm up at 5.30pm with the 1st competitor in the arena at 6pm starting with Minus X Poles. Timings must be adhered to strictly. Classes will not be delayed for latecomers.

Parents are asked to contact their relevant DC and advise what assistance /help they can provide during the evening. A huge amount of time goes into organising these events and relief from posts is always required in order to allow Committee members/volunteers time to assist and watch their own children competing. Your help would be massively appreciated.

Summer Camp 2019 

CAMP 2019 was one to remember! The sun shone at Rosanna solidly for five days; the kids, ponies and instructors had a ball. A massive thank you to the committee, to parents and instructors who worked tirelessly to ensure we had a wonderful week. Bring on Camp 2020!!

There was serious competition for the KING OF CAMP prize this year with challenges taking centre stage every day. 


Congratulations to our three Minimus teams who did our club so proud at the Championships in Millstreet in June. It was a memorable weekend and we brought back a mountain of prizes:

Peter 4th in the Boys Competition
Skyla 4th in the Girls Competition
Skyla 2nd in the Girls International Competition
Brian 2nd fastest runner
Best Turned Out Teams for a 2nd year in a row

Congratulations to Skyla Nally who represented Ireland at the International Minimus Champtionships in the UK. Her team finished in second place . 

Congratulations also to Robert Cherry who represented Ireland at the Tetrathlon Championships .

U 10 Games got off to a flying start at Cooley Farm lat Friday evening  thanks to our wonderful hosts Georgina and Ricard Sheane. The teams will embark on their first competition at Barnadown this coming Saturday. Best of Luck to all.

Showjumping Summer League: 14th, 21st 28th August & 7th September
Our summer league will commence on Wednesday the 14th of August in Boswell Equestrian Centre at 5.30pm with Xpoles, Minus Mini, Mini, Midi, Maxi and Super Maxi classes  followed  by a league show on the 21st and 28th of August.  Our gymkana and the final of the league will be held in Cooley Farm on Saturday the 7th of September. There will be jumping available to suit all abilities and teams will fight it out for the Galligan Shield  in the team competition.

Connolly Red Mills Eventing Championships 17th & 18th August Ballindenisk IPC Mackey Classic Showjumping Final: Sunday 8th September, Colloig EC, Kildare

We have a Leave No Trace Policy for everyone attending pony club events. Everyone is responsible for 
taking away their rubbish and their horses dung. Recently our DC spent over an hour picking up coffee cups and collecting dung after an event which can not happen again. Please be responsible and Leave No Trace 🙂
