We are very sorry to hear that there has been a confirmed case of Strangles in Marlton Stud. Strangles is a highly infectious disease but Marlton is taking every possible precaution to isolate the outbreak and we hope that it will not be long before they are clear of the disease.
Spruce Lodge has confirmed that the 2nd day of our Spring League can go ahead next Sunday but we do ask anybody whose pony compteted at any event in Marlton over the past 3 weeks not to bring the pony to Spruce Lodge.
Strangles is most often spread through direct contact with other horses or through shared environments such as water sources or tack so it is good practice when travelling to bring your own tack, bucket and water.
