Many thanks to all of you who supported our hosting of the IPC Area 1 Show Jumping Qualifier today at Boswell where Festival Tickets for the various classes were spread very evenly between Carlow, Bray and ourselves.
In the Robbie Bailey our Blue team of Robert, Wolfi, Mollie and Chloe qualified in 1st place as the only team to finish on a zero score after an exciting 4 way jump off in which Robert and Wolfi brought the win home in style. Robert’s round was a balancing act executed to perfection as in addition to having chef Sandra’s team strategy on his mind, he also managed to be quick enough to repeat his 2014 win in the Gerry G Cup for junior individuals. Bray and Carlow filled the remaining qualification slots. Also in the junior section, our Gold team of Ronan, Jessica, Leah and Ella were awarded the team turnout prize.
In the John Ledingham the White team of Mily, Shona, Isabelle and Jessie finished best of our teams in 4th place behind the qualifiers from Carlow, Bray and Carlow.
While we had no Members team this year, we were represented in the Senior Individual class by Ellen who jumped a lovely double clear and agreed to divide the class with the only other double clear individual from Carlow without the need for a jump off.
The day finished with the inaugural Under 12 challenge in which Samuel, Allanah, Sasha, Naoise and Cliodhna flew the flag.
Best of luck to Robert, Wolfi, Mollie, Chloe and Ellen in Mullingar in the SJ classes on 29th July, and to all of those attempting to go forward for the Combined Training and Pure Dressage finals at the Marlton qualifier on Thursday.
