Good Evening Campers!
As we approach the end of this year’s camp I would like to thank everybody involved in making the week such a success. To all the parents, instructors, committee, leaders, grooms and those of you who helped out around the field and with the courses (too many to name but you know who you are) – this week would not be possible without your input. To the kids, from the younger members making new friends as they get started on the pony club ladder, to the experienced members re-connecting with old friends – this is your week. I hope you have all enjoyed yourselves and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible out competing for the branch in the red and white this year and for many years to come.
On a personal note, I have really enjoyed my first camp as DC. We have one of the most vibrant and exciting branches in the country with the potential to match and indeed surpass the successes we have had at national level in the years ahead.
The weather gods have been kind since the washout that was Monday and hopefully this continues tomorrow for our last day of show jumping and cross country. We would be delighted if as many of you as possible could stay around for group prize giving tomorrow afternoon. Remember, the group events to mark the end of the week are supposed to be about participation, gaining experience and applying what you have been working on with your instructors throughout the week, so the only long faces we want to see tomorrow are those on your ponies!
Wicklow are hosting this year’s Area 1 Showjumping qualifier in Boswell next Tuesday 14th July starting at 9:30am. Please come along for an hour or so and cheer on your club and see some exciting showjumping from all the branches in Area 1. Details on website.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
