Hi everyone,
We hope you are looking forward to this Saturday’s Gymkhana. We have lots of activities planned we hope you will enjoy.
Please see a preliminary schedule attached – A finalized schedule and jumping order will be posted on the website on Friday evening. (The jumping order will be pulled from a hat at 6pm on Friday in Boswells at course build) In order to fit in so much fun and accommodate riders competing in multiple competitions efficient scheduling is paramount and we greatly appreciate your cooperation arriving on time for your events.
Please note: Showjumping and Working Hunter entries can only be made online – entries close Thursday 23.59. We will not be able to accept on the on the day entries for these classes.
Summer League
It has been great to see such high level of participation at the three league nights making way for a very exciting finale. The results and league table are on the website: http://www.wicklowponyclub.com/wp/disciplines/results/
Please note: A rider can only be placed in ONE of the leagues so if you are entering more than one class or jumping more than one pony YOU MUST DECLARE ONE PONY IN ONE LEAGUE on your entry. A pony can only be declared once for a class so riders sharing a pony should declare for seperate classes. If a pony is being shared by riders in the same class the declared rider MUST jump first. A rider may enter more than one class and be placed on the day but if members are using a smaller class to warm up could they please go HC so that younger competitors have a chance to be placed and get some ribbons.
Entries can be made online or on the day for: Fancy Dress , Style & Appearance, Barrel Race and Galligan Shield. On the day entries should be made at least 30 minutes before the start time.
Newby’s for 2018
This year we welcome new competitions:
Barrel racing: This will be a fun team relay trotting race, teams made up of younger and older riders. Rules and regs will be explained at the start of the race.
Working Hunter – We thank Carol Coad for organizing this this event . What’s it all about I hear you say ? Please see info attached.
The working hunter course will need to be dismantled and put away after lunch – we hope some parents can lend a hand with this, many hands ….????
Best wishes,
Niamh Cherry
